Background and Resolution

For years, leaders in Tororo District have raised concerns regarding administrative challenges and boundary disputes. In response, ⁣the Ugandan government has taken steps to restructure the region. These steps include establishing Tororo as an independent city and dividing the existing Tororo District into four administrative‍ units: tororo City, Mukuju district, Mulanda District, and Kisoko District.

The decision to create these new administrative units aims to address the concerns of different ‌communities within ⁤the region and promote more effective local governance.‌ Tororo ​City’s status ⁢as a​ neutral administrative unit is intended to ​facilitate equitable development and portrayal.

President Museveni’s Address

Addressing a large campaign rally at Lions Park ​in Tororo on November 14, 2025, President ⁤Museveni stated that the government has fulfilled its obligations regarding the resolution of the administrative and boundary issues. He further indicated that he would consult with the Attorney General to finalize the legal procedures necessary to fully implement the changes.

According to ⁢ Watchdog Uganda,the President’s statement reassured the people of tororo that the long-standing issues are being addressed.

The New Districts: Mukuju, mulanda, and Kisoko
