Museveni Flags Off NRM Mobilizers to Promote Government Programs
president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday flagged off National Resistance Movement (NRM) mobilizers from across Uganda to educate citizens about government programs designed to improve their livelihoods. The event took place at State House, Entebbe.
During a meeting with the mobilizers, President Museveni emphasized the importance of understanding the NRM’s vision and strategy for poverty reduction. He stated, “It seems you are clear about the vision and strategy of NRM because that’s always the problem people, don’t know how to get out of poverty.”
Focus on Key Economic Sectors
Museveni, who also serves as the National Chairman of the NRM party, highlighted four key sectors for economic growth: commercial agriculture, manufacturing and artisanship, services, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). he acknowledged the mobilizers’ focus on societal mobilization as a crucial component of poverty alleviation.
The President also directed the mobilizers to actively involve the public in combating corruption and the misuse of government funds intended for public benefit. He further pledged support for a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO) initiative aimed at improving the mobilizers’ financial well-being.
Mobilizer Leadership and Gratitude
The team of mobilizers was led by Hajat Amina Mukalazi. They presented President Museveni with a Memorandum of Understanding, expressing their gratitude for his leadership in driving Uganda’s socio-economic change.
Museveni praised the team for their dedication and hard work in supporting the NRM’s objectives.
