Tesla and SpaceX CEOs Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr, along with other MAGA celebrities, called on Republican senators to elect Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) as the next Senate majority leader.
Musk and RFK Jr. are two of Trump’s key allies, including conservative talk show hosts Tucker Carlson and Vivek Ramaswamy, as well as Senate Republican Whip John Thune, R-S. I endorsed Scott in an effort to shake up this elective race. John Cornyn (R-Texas) is considered the frontrunner.

Vivek Ramaswamy, who could take a senior position in the Trump administration, also supported Scott.

But Trump, the biggest star in the MAGA world, has yet to secure support in the Senate leadership race.
Last week, Thune and his allies called on Trump to withdraw from the leadership race, a call that figures close to the president-elect appear to have ignored.
“I am in regular contact with him and his team. Of course, he can have a lot of influence if he wants to. But honestly, I think my preference would be his. It’s in my best interest to stay out of (the race),” Thune told CNBC’s Joe Kernen.

Trump supported Scott when he challenged McConnell for Senate Republican leadership after the 2022 midterm elections, which increased Democrats’ Senate majority to 51.
McConnell easily defeated Scott by a vote of 36-10.
Several Republican senators allied with MAGA also announced their support for Scott over the weekend, including Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.).

Republican senators are scheduled to convene at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to elect new leadership.
McConnell is retiring as Senate Republican leader after 18 years. He said he would serve the remainder of his Senate term until 2026.
