Upon his release, he faced continued harassment, including the confiscation of his assets, forcing him to seek refuge in Libya in 1960.

There, Nada found support from King Idris al-Senussi, who granted him Libyan citizenship, enabling him to travel internationally and continue his work with the Brotherhood.

Nada’s life took another turn after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Accused by then-US President George W. Bush of financing terrorism,Nada faced asset seizures and house arrest in Switzerland. Despite investigations by intelligence agencies in Switzerland, Italy, and the United States, no evidence was found to support the accusations.

In 2009, the UN Security council removed Nada’s name from its list of terrorism sponsors at the request of the Swiss government, vindicating his innocence.
