Al-Hilal Secures Miteb Al-Harbi in Record-Breaking Deal
The transfer of Saudi international left-back Miteb Al-Harbi from Al-Shabaab club to Al-Hilal, the Saudi Professional League title holders, has sparked intense debate in the Saudi sports arena.
The deal, worth 123 million riyals including tax, became the most expensive in the history of Saudi football and was sponsored by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, a member of Al-Hilal Club.
Al-Shabaab received offers from Al-Saudi Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr, and Al-Ahly clubs to include Miteb Al-Harbi, which Al-Shabaab used to get the maximum possible return by selling the player and strengthening their ranks with distinguished elements.
Al-Hilal presented a bigger financial offer than Al-Nasr’s offer, in addition to loaning player Musab Al-Jaweer to the Al-Shabaab club for a season, making the deal go directly from Al-Nasr to Al-Hilal in the biggest contract in the history of Saudi football.
The board of directors of Saudi Al-Nasr Club issued an official statement to clarify all matters regarding the contract of left-back Miteb Al-Harbi, who has confirmed reports that he has finalized his contract with Al-Hilal.
Al-Nasr Club regrets the outcome of the transfer agreement of Miteb Al-Harbi from Al-Shabaab Club, which took a long time and many efforts to reach a final agreement that satisfies both parties.
Al-Shabaab club president Mohammad Al-Munajim said the club’s interest was what prompted them to acquire the most expensive contract in Saudi football history.

Al-Munazem wrote through his official account on The Work Team, and I pray to God that we succeed in fulfilling the aspirations of the youth in the rest of the time.
According to Saudi reports, al-Shabaab officials acted quickly after the sale of al-Harbi to bolster their first football team with several local and foreign elements before closing the registration window.
Al-Shabaab Welcomes Its Returning Star Musab Al-Jaweer
The official Al-Shabaab Club account on the “X” platform welcomed the team’s new star, Musab Al-Jaweer, who transferred Miteb Al-Harbi on loan from Al-Hilal as part of the acquisition of the leader.
Al-Shabaab’s official account wrote to its former star, Musab al-Jaweer: “You have your seat… welcome back.” Al-Jaweer previously played for Al-Shabaab in the second half of last season, after he left in January 2024 on a 6-month loan to Al-Shabaab.
Mutaib Al-Harbi expressed his great joy at moving to the ranks of Al-Hilal and promised the fans of Al-Hilal Blue that he will give his best in the future to lead Saudi football to continue to dominate.

Al-Harbi wrote to Al-Hilal fans through his personal account on the “X” platform: I am happy to move to Al-Hilal Club, and I look forward to working with my teammates and achieving our common goals. I will do my best and trust you. I will thank you for that, and I hope that we will make beautiful memories together.
Al-Harbi added: “I would also like to sincerely thank the club management for putting their trust in me, and I hope that this is the beginning of a step towards achieving many achievements and moments that we will all be proud of.”
