myFirst: Safe Tech for Kids – Smartwatches, Cameras & Family App Updates

by Lisa Park - Tech Editor

Singapore-based technology company myFirst has expanded its ecosystem of connected devices for children, positioning its products as a safer alternative to early smartphone adoption. The company’s portfolio now includes smartwatches, instant cameras, digital frames, and headphones, all integrated with the myFirst Circle platform for parental control and communication management. This expansion comes as the industry faces increasing scrutiny regarding child safety and responsible technology use.

The myFirst Circle Ecosystem

At the heart of myFirst’s offering is the myFirst Circle app, which serves as a centralized control panel for parents and a secure communication hub for children. The latest iteration, Circle 4.0, introduces features like Circle Map 2.0 Group View, enhancing location sharing and safety settings. The app allows parents to manage contacts, monitor communications, and utilize features like Ghost Mode for privacy. Notably, myFirst emphasizes ad-free educational content within the platform.

The platform’s core strength lies in its ability to restrict a child’s contact list to parent-approved individuals, a common feature in kid-focused wearables. This control extends across all myFirst devices and is managed through the Circle app. Apple Watch compatibility has also been added, allowing users to link the service to the popular wearable.

Connected Watches: Fone S4 and M1

myFirst’s smartwatch offerings, the Fone S4 and M1, are designed for communication within a controlled environment. Both devices feature GPS tracking with real-time location sharing and customizable safety settings. The Fone M1, specifically targeted at families introducing their children to smartwatch technology, boasts a 1.6-inch AMOLED display, calling and video chat capabilities, and media playback support.

For parents, the Fone M1 provides a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi, and GSM tracking, alongside a One-Touch SOS alert function. All settings and contacts are managed through the myFirst Circle app, ensuring parental oversight.

Cameras Focused on Creation, Not Social Media

myFirst is also prioritizing devices that encourage creativity without the risks associated with social media platforms. The company’s camera range includes the Insta Lux and Insta Prinx Mini instant cameras. These cameras allow children to capture and print photos directly, bypassing the need for social media sharing.

The myFirst Insta Lux is a 12MP instant camera equipped with a 2.8-inch display and dual lenses. It features an additional shutter button for versatile shooting angles, including selfies. Photos can be captured, edited, and printed directly through the myFirst Circle app. The camera utilizes inkless printing technology, producing waterproof, smudge-proof, and fingerprint-resistant prints at a cost of under $0.70 per print. Wi-Fi connectivity allows for printing from other devices as well.

The Insta Prinx Mini is a more compact option, featuring a 5MP lens, LED flash, and a 2.4-inch IPS color display. It employs 600 dpi inkjet printing for full-color prints, with each cartridge capable of producing 80 to 100 images at a cost of under $0.30 per print. MyFirst highlights that the prints are safe for airport X-ray scanners and can be customized with doodles and designs through the myFirst Circle app.

The Family Frame Clario

Expanding the ecosystem into the home, the myFirst Frame Clario is a 7-inch digital frame designed to integrate with the myFirst Circle platform. It supports video calls, photo sharing, and voice notes within the family group, providing a private and secure way for families to stay connected.

The frame includes a “Magic Button” for quick access to slideshows, calls, and messages. Photos can be stored on an SD card (up to 1TB), transferred via USB-C, or saved to private cloud accounts associated with each user. Additional features include a built-in calendar, reminders, alarms, to-do lists, and real-time weather updates. The frame also functions as a charging dock for the S and R series myFirst Fone smartwatches.

Safe Listening with CareBuds Max

myFirst’s CareBuds Max headphones are designed with safe listening practices in mind. The 2-in-1 wireless and wired model features dual volume limits of 85dB and 94dB, along with interchangeable ear cushions. The headphones also incorporate Smart Transparency Safety Mode and Environmental Noise Cancellation for clear calls.

Battery life is rated up to 52 hours, and an Audio Sharing feature allows two users to listen from a single device without the need for adapters.

A Focus on Child-Centric Design

According to G-Jay Yong, Founder and CEO of myFirst, the company’s mission is to “help families explore together through technology that inspires creativity, connection and confidence.” Yong added that the latest devices and the Circle 4.0 ecosystem provide children with the freedom to learn and express themselves while keeping parents informed and involved. The company currently serves over one million families across 36 countries, according to information released in September 2025.

myFirst’s approach differs from many competitors who adapt existing adult technology for children. Instead, the company prioritizes a child’s developmental needs and safety requirements when designing its products, building the technology around those parameters.
