Updated June 06, 2025
myLaurel, a new York-based provider specializing in home-based acute and transitional care, has raised $12 million in a recent funding round. Deerfield Management and GV spearheaded the investment, with participation from Emerson Collective, Pinta Partners, Ochsner Health, and myLaurel’s management team.
The company plans to use the funds to fuel its growth and expansion strategy. Currently operating in New York and Louisiana, myLaurel aims to extend its reach into three additional markets. The funding will support building out these new locations.
myLaurel partners with payers, health systems, and home health providers through value-based payment models to deliver acute care in patients’ homes. Its service lines, including Rapid Advanced Care and Recovery at Home, focus on pre-hospital and post-discharge interventions. The goal is to decrease hospital visits and readmission rates for its partners.
The company has established partnerships with organizations such as Ochsner Health and Maimonides Health.
CEO Juan Vallarino noted that myLaurel achieved a “record-breaking 2024” and continued growth into the first quarter of 2025. A key driver of this growth is the company’s ability to help hospital and health system partners free up beds.
“[Home care] is a growing segment of where health care is delivered, in terms of cost, in terms of patient preference,” Vallarino said.
Vallarino emphasized the growing importance of home care, citing cost-effectiveness and patient preference. He believes there is a significant chance to assist health systems in managing capacity issues and expanding their reach into patients’ homes.
What’s next
Looking ahead,myLaurel plans a strategic approach to expansion, prioritizing markets with an anchor hospital client.Vallarino said the company aims to achieve profitability within approximately eight months of entering a new market.
