WICHITA, Kan. – Canada’s Myles Creighton played a significant role Saturday, carding a 59 at the Wichita Open. His performance makes him the 15th golfer to score 59 or lower on the Korn Ferry Tour. The Wichita Open saw its second sub-60 score in just three days.
Adrien Dumont de Chassart also played a key role, achieving a 59 during the opening round at Crestview Country Club. Creighton’s round included 12 birdies and a single bogey on the par-3 eighth hole. Crestview Country Club measures 6,910 yards with a par of 70. The course features two par 5s slightly over 500 yards and two par 4s under 350 yards.
This marks the second time in two years that two players have recorded sub-60 rounds at the same korn Ferry Tour event. Cristobal Del Solar of Chile holds the Korn Ferry Tour record with a 57 at the Astara Golf Championship in Colombia. Aldrich Potgieter of South Africa followed that performance with a 59 the next day. Neither Del Solar nor Potgieter won their respective tournaments.
As 2023, there have been 18 sub-60 rounds across various professional tours worldwide. Jake Knapp shot a 59 on the PGA Tour at the Cognizant Classic earlier this year. Each player hopes their role in these historic rounds will propel them to victory.
