Villagers in Kanchanaburi Province Report Loud Explosion and Smoke in Forest
On September 11, 2024, residents of Nong Fai Sub-district, Lao Khwan District, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, reported hearing a loud explosion-like sound in the sky. Following the noise, smoke and flames were seen rising from the middle of the forest.
Volunteer rescuers from Lao Khwan District responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the smoke and explosion. Preliminary findings suggest that the smoke was caused by burning tree stumps, ruling out the possibility of a plane explosion.
Initial investigations also revealed that the loud noise was similar to an explosion, but it is believed to be related to a test of aeronautical radio communication for disaster prevention and relief.
Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion and smoke in the forest.
