A new treasure hunt, inspired⁤ by the late Forrest Fenn, is underway, reigniting the thrill ⁤of the chase for adventurers.

Forrest Fenn, a Santa Fe art dealer, sparked a phenomenon when he hid a treasure chest⁣ in the Rocky Mountains. The hunt, documented in Netflix’s “Gold ⁤& Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure,” drew over 300,000 people for a decade.

The treasure, estimated at $1 to $5 million, was found in Wyoming in 2020 by Jack ‍Stuef, than a 32-year-old medical student. Stuef deciphered Fenn’s ⁤clues to find the location⁤ where Fenn had wanted to die.

A New Chapter: A Treasure‍ Hunt Reimagined

Justin Posey, a buyer ⁤in the auction featured in the Netflix documentary, has launched a new treasure hunt inspired by ⁤Fenn.Posey’s hunt includes some of the original treasures and his⁤ own collection. A Texas-based software engineer, Posey hid clues in his interviews during the documentary.

Hunters are now seeking Posey’s 60-pound treasure, which includes gold bars, rubies, emeralds, a meteorite, and cryptocurrency. Posey’s book, “Beyond the Map’s Edge,” contains a poem revealing the treasure’s location.

Treasure hunter Eric Johnson said he has⁤ read everything about the hunt, including books, websites,⁣ and theories on Reddit ⁣and Discord. Mike Kress, another hunter, said he is driven by the story, history, symbols, and encoded meanings.

The new hunt honors fenn, encourages outdoor‍ exploration, and continues the adventure.
