The late-night program ‘Al cielo con ella,’ hosted by Henar Alvarez, is moving from La 2 to La 1 on Spanish public television, RTVE. The final episode on La 2, featuring guests Nacho Duato and Lidia San José, aired on Sunday, March 15, 2026, according to RTVE Play.
The program’s shift to La 1 will be marked by an exclusive interview with Shakira, RTVE announced on March 11, 2026. ‘Al cielo con ella’ began as an original production for RTVE Play in November 2024, achieving the platform’s best-ever launch for an original series. It subsequently transitioned to La 2, where it continued to perform well, achieving a 3% audience share and 377,000 viewers on average, and peaking at 4% share and 507,000 viewers on March 8, 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
The program is produced by RTVE in collaboration with Producciones del Barrio. It features interviews with figures from music, journalism, comedy, and acting, characterized by a “cercano, ácido y desenfadado” (close, acidic, and uninhibited) style, as described by RTVE.
Sunday’s broadcast on La 2 featured choreographer Nacho Duato, who reflected on what he described as the “ayuno intelectual” (intellectual fast) of society, and actress Lidia San José. San José discussed her decade-long residence in Mexico, her work as a historian, and her second book focusing on women in history. She also shared details about her current theater production, “Una excusa perfecta.”
The March 15th episode also included a segment with Ana Morgade, who discussed the viral success of her videos and addressed being referred to as “charo” on social media, concluding with a puppet show. The program’s move to La 1 aims to broaden its reach and continue its success, according to RTVE.
Prior to the move to La 1, the program aired a “funeral” themed farewell to La 2, described as “surrealista” (surreal) by RTVE, marking the transition to the new channel.
The program has accumulated a total impact of 378 million views on social media since its debut, solidifying its position as one of RTVE’s most successful digital formats.
