Cairo,Egypt – The Cairo Short Film Festival concluded with a powerful blend of artistic party and impassioned pleas for peace.Actress Nahed el Sebai, honored for her contributions to cinema, dedicated her tribute to her late mother, highlighting the unique power of short films as a storytelling medium.

Fellow honoree, Palestinian actor Kamel al-Basha, used his platform to shed light on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. “Today, there are 90 martyrs alone in Gaza,” al-Basha stated, his voice heavy with emotion. He emphasized cinemaS ability to shape societies and history, urging the audience to remember the Palestinian plight. “Palestine is a film, a film production about Palestine,” al-Basha declared, referencing the displacement of over a million Palestinians in 1948.
