Interview with Najwa Karam on ”Arb’s Got Talent”: Insights on Nasser Al-Qasabi,bassem Youssef, and Ali Jaber
Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today,Najwa. You recently shared your thoughts during a live episode of “Arb’s Got Talent.” Can you elaborate on your feelings about the show and your fellow judges?
Najwa Karam: Absolutely! “Arb’s Got Talent” is a unique platform that brings together various talents and creativity. I feel the show has a romantic essence, which resonates with both the audience and us as judges. Though, I couldn’t help but notice that Nasser Al-qasabi does struggle with understanding that romantic vibe. [Laughs] He has his strengths, but romance isn’t one of them.
Interviewer: That’s an interesting outlook. Speaking of Nasser, he’s known for his comedic style. How does this impact the judging dynamic during the show?
Najwa Karam: Nasser is a brilliant performer and brings a unique energy to the panel. Though, when it comes to romance, he tends to be a bit more literal and perhaps naïve in that regard. This can create a delightful contrast with the rest of us. It makes for an engaging dynamic but also challenges us to bridge that gap in our assessments.
Interviewer: You also mentioned Bassem Youssef during your comments. You described him as a “surgeon of knives, watermelons.” What did you mean by that?
Najwa Karam: Bassem has a sharp wit—he knows how to slice through the surface and get to the heart of the matter, much like a surgeon. His humor can be quite cutting, and he often presents his thoughts in a way that’s both entertaining and thought-provoking. The “watermelons” part is just a playful metaphor highlighting the ridiculousness of some critiques we face!
Interviewer: Bassem responded to your comments with some sarcasm. how did it feel to engage in that banter?
Najwa Karam: [Laughs] it’s all in good fun! Bassem’s sense of humor adds to the atmosphere, and when he said, “You’re going to bully us, Najwa… What are you doing?” I simply clarified that it was my opinion. I love being in a space where we can tease each other; it brings out our personalities.
Interviewer: This season, you, Bassem, and Nasser are all on the judging panel. How has the experiance been so far as the season premiered on October 16?
Najwa Karam: It’s been fantastic! There’s a strong chemistry among the judges. Each of us brings a different perspective, and I believe it enriches the show. We’re all in it for the talent, and seeing the contestants shine makes it all worthwhile.
Interviewer: Thank you for sharing your insights,Najwa. We’re looking forward to more episodes of “Arb’s Got Talent.”
Najwa Karam: Thank you for having me! I’m excited for what’s to come as we continue to discover incredible talents.
