[경기인터넷신문=김성현 기자] Namyangju City announced on the 29th that it will significantly expand its hygiene product support project for the healthy growth of female adolescents starting in September.

The ‘Namyangju-type sanitary product support project’ is a system that distributes sanitary products and sanitary product boxes to institutions so that any youth in need of sanitary products can use them free of charge at any location of their choice, including elementary, middle, and high schools and youth facilities within the district.

Following its support for 20 schools last year, the city plans to expand its support to 67 schools (including alternative schools) and youth-related organizations (youth training centers, fun grounds, youth counseling and welfare centers, and out-of-school youth support centers) this year.

Park Mi-kyung, director of the Youth Policy Division, said, “We have decided to expand support projects to ensure that young people, who will take responsibility for our future, do not suffer from harm to their dignity and human rights as they grow up.” She added, “We will continue to carefully examine what our young people need and strive to create a healthy society through tailored support.”
