An Iranian ballistic missile struck the Neot Hovav Industrial Zone in southern Israel on March 29, 2026. The missile scored a direct hit on an industrial facility, triggering a hazardous materials emergency.

One person sustained light injuries in the strike. No other casualties were reported.

The impact produced a dense black mushroom cloud that rose to a considerable height above the factory buildings. The Ministry of Environmental Protection stated that the strike raised suspicion of a hazardous materials incident.

Large firefighting and rescue forces were deployed to the scene to contain the spreading blaze and neutralize potential leaks of toxic materials.

Regional Barrage and Alerts

The strike on the industrial complex occurred during a broader barrage targeting southern Israel. Sirens sounded across the Negev region, including Be’er Sheva, Pezura East, Segev Shalom, and the Bnei Shimon and Ramat Negev regional councils.

In Neot Hovav, the alert activated at 15:23. This provided factory workers and residents 90 seconds to reach protected spaces before the impact occurred.

Powerful explosions were heard across the region following the alerts, resulting from both direct impacts and air defense interceptions.

Neot Hovav Industrial Zone

The Neot Hovav Industrial Zone is located in the Negev desert, approximately 12 kilometers south of Beer Sheva. It is one of the largest industrial zones in the Negev, spanning approximately 80,000 dunams and employing some 11,000 workers.

The site serves as one of the primary centers in Israel for chemical and hazardous materials operations.
