Emergency Landing in Naples
A Wizz Air flight traveling from Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to rome, Italy, made an unscheduled landing at Naples International Airport on Monday, October 14, 2024, due to an unexpected technical problem. Flight W4 6118 carried numerous passengers, including journalists and operators who had been covering the recent peace summit on Gaza in Sharm el-Sheikh, which was attended by Italian prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Wizz Air clarified that, contrary to initial reports, there were no signs of smoke or fire on board the aircraft. Tho, prioritizing passenger and crew safety, the airline’s maintenance team is conducting a comprehensive inspection of the plane, following established safety protocols. Firefighters performed an initial assessment of the aircraft after landing.
Passengers Transported to Final Destination
All passengers disembarked safely. Wizz Air is arranging transportation via coach to continue their journeys to Rome Fiumicino Airport.
