Top City Official Under Investigation for Embezzlement in Naples

The City of Naples is investigating a Supervisor for alleged embezzlement. This investigation started because of an anonymous letter sent to City officials, including the City Manager and City Council.

The letter claims that a high-ranking employee used a City credit card to buy thousands of dollars in tools for a personal business. The employee allegedly sold these tools to local construction workers at a lower price and kept the profit.

Additionally, the letter accuses the employee of using City gas for personal use and boasting about it to coworkers.

Currently, the investigation is nearing completion. The City of Naples has not disclosed if the employee is still working. NBC2 News will update the public if any criminal charges are filed.
