Nashville Police Reveal Suspect in Club La Danse Shooting
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has identified the man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting outside Club La Danse, which occurred on the early morning of May 5, 2026. The incident left one person dead and several others injured, prompting a swift police response and the release of the suspect’s identity. Traivon X. Bohannon, 27, is now wanted on multiple felony counts related to the shooting. According to verified reporting, Bohannon has a prior criminal record, including convictions for carjacking and aggravated robbery. The shooting took place outside the club on Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, a busy corridor in downtown Nashville. The MNPD has described the investigation as active, with detectives pursuing strong leads. In the wake of the shooting, the department announced a heightened police presence in the area, particularly around the Rosa L. Parks/Commerce Street corridor, to ensure public safety. The decision follows a broader plan to maintain security during Cinco de Mayo celebrations and beyond, as stated by Chief John Drake. “This police department and our city will not tolerate the violence displayed Sunday morning,” Chief Drake said in an official statement. “Commander Rickey Bearden and his team at the Central Precinct, including the Entertainment District Unit, are working very hard to ensure the safety of downtown. Violent crime is down 30% in Central over the first four months of this year. We are committed to addressing problems quickly and appropriately to maintain the safety and uniqueness of Nashville.” The shooting occurred after multiple fights broke out between patrons who had been removed from the club. The suspect was described as a Black man dressed in distinctive clothing, including an orange hat, orange shoes, an orange bandana, and light-colored jeans. Two other victims, a 27-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were also injured in the incident. The MNPD has urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation. Those with tips are encouraged to contact the department through hubNashville online or by dialing 311 or (615) 862-5000. For non-emergency police assistance, the public can call 615-862-8600. The release of Bohannon’s identity marks a significant development in the case, as authorities continue to work to bring those responsible to justice and restore safety to the community.
