Natália Hejková Transitions to Advisor Role with USK Prague After Championship Win
Prague – After a remarkable run as head coach, Natália hejková will continue her impactful presence with USK Prague as a key advisor. This transition follows the team’s recent championship victory and marks a new chapter for the celebrated coach.
The six-time EuroLeague winner and member of the FIBA Hall of Fame will focus on supporting the newly appointed coaching staff, led by Martin Bašta, in their transition. Hejková’s primary goal is to ensure a smooth integration for the entire implementation team – from coaches to physiotherapists - fostering a collaborative and accomplished environment.
A Legacy of Success
Hejková’s tenure as head coach of USK Prague, beginning in 2012, was marked by unparalleled dominance. She led the team to an remarkable 13 consecutive league titles and secured two EuroLeague championships, in 2015 and 2025. Prior to her time with USK Prague, she successfully coached Valencia, Dynamo Moscow, Spartak Moscow, Sopron, and Ruzomberok, establishing herself as a prominent figure in European basketball.
Martin Bašta, who previously served as an assistant coach, has been named the new head coach. He will be supported by assistant coaches Aleš Jiran and Irena Vrančičová, and the physiotherapy team has been expanded with the addition of Aneta Šobová.
Looking ahead: A Collaborative Future
Bašta expressed his enthusiasm for Hejková’s continued involvement, stating, I am very pleased that NATA has agreed to continue with the club. As a new implementation team, we will still be close to her and able to draw on her experience. She is a great personality, and I look forward to our further cooperation.
