New Council Aims to Accelerate Health Innovation
A National Health Care Innovation Council has been established to facilitate the implementation of health innovations, ultimately enhancing patient access and improving health outcomes. The initiative follows NL Health Services’ (NLHS) annual Health Innovation Summit, where innovators presented a range of advancements, including robotic surgery and more accessible birthing options.
Data-Driven Solutions are the Focus
according to Ron Johnson, Vice President of Digital Health, Innovation and Research with NL health Services, the council will prioritize the development of data-driven, evidence-based, and personalized healthcare solutions. The creation of the council was a key outcome of the recent summit.
Johnson believes the council will help overcome obstacles to the widespread adoption of innovations across different regions. Specifically, it aims to break down the barriers of moving innovation from one jurisdiction to another.
