U.S. Park Police arrested a driver Saturday after the individual drove an SUV through the National Mall, weaving through pedestrian areas.The incident, which involved a white SUV, occurred on paths between the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol,startling tourists,joggers,and families.
Social media footage captured the vehicle speeding past the Smithsonian Castle, disregarding stop signs, and nearly hitting pedestrians and scooter riders. The driver’s role in the incident is now under examination.
