Both projects will expand the canon of The Last of Us beyond Part 1 and Part 2. The world of The Last of Us means a great deal to us, and we wouldn’t return to it unless we had something meaningful to say. We believe these stories are worth telling.

In addition to the franchise expansion, Druckmann provided a status report on Naughty Dog’s new intellectual property, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Naughty Dog has shared very little about the sci-fi title since its initial announcement in 2024, and that quiet period will extend through the remainder of the year. Druckmann noted that the sci-fi project requires additional development time before the studio is ready to showcase it properly. Naughty Dog plans to fully unveil Intergalactic in 2027.
