Naval Prefecture Opens First Base in Córdoba, Enhancing Water Safety and Security

On Monday, November 18, 2024, the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, opened a new office for the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) in Embalse, Córdoba. This is the first base for the PNA in this province.
Bullrich highlighted the strategic importance of this office. Córdoba has over 16,000 registered boats and a strong boating community. She emphasized the need to improve safety on local waters, especially during peak seasons. She noted the PNA’s role in ensuring safe navigation, preventing pollution, and speeding up administrative processes related to water activities.
“The PNA protects our rivers and lakes. They also operate in vital areas like the 200-mile zone and the waterway, addressing global threats like organized crime,” she stated.
At the inauguration, attendees included Secretary of Security Alejandra Monteoliva, Deputy Chief Alejandro Paulo Annichini, Governor of Córdoba Martín Llaryora, Provincial Security Minister Juan Pablo Quinteros, and Mayor Mario Rivarola. Local senators and deputies, along with the maritime authority’s leadership, were also present.
