The 2026 NBA All-Star Game opened yesterday, Friday, February 13th, with the Rising Stars challenge. Rookies and sophomores, players in their first and second years in the NBA, competed in a mini-tournament that highlighted the talent of VJ Edgecombe. The Bahamian from the Philadelphia 76ers led his team to victory, earning the MVP award.
Today, Saturday, February 14th, is dedicated to individual skills. The dunk contest and three-point contest will take place starting at 11 PM Italian time. Another rookie, Kon Knueppel, is among those most anticipated, breaking records with long-distance shots. Attention also goes to Damien Lillard: the veteran is out for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon, but he will still try to shine.
The event will conclude on Sunday, February 15th, with the actual All-Star Game. However, it will be a tournament and not a challenge between two teams. Three selections, two composed of American players and one from the rest of the world, in an increasingly international NBA. A decidedly unpredictable challenge is expected, with Nikola Jokic leading the rest-of-the-world group. Many players are injured, but it will still be an interesting event.

NBA All-Star Saturday, featuring the State Farm 3-Point Contest, Kia Shooting Stars, and AT&T Slam Dunk, is set to begin at 5 PM ET on NBC and Peacock, according to NBA.com. The order of events will be the 3-Point Contest, followed by Shooting Stars, and concluding with the Slam Dunk contest.
The participants in the State Farm 3-Point Contest include Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets), Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Bobby Portis Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks), and Norman Powell (Miami Heat).
The Kia Shooting Stars competition will feature Team All-Star with Scottie Barnes (Toronto Raptors), Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), and NBA Legend Richard Hamilton. Team Cameron with Jalen Johnson (Atlanta Hawks), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets), and NBA Legend Corey Maggette; Team Harper with Dylan Harper (San Antonio Spurs), Ron Harper Jr. (Boston Celtics), and NBA Legend Ron Harper; and Team Knicks with Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks), and NBA Legend Allan Houston.
Competing in the AT&T Slam Dunk contest will be Carter Bryant (San Antonio Spurs), Jaxson Hayes (Los Angeles Lakers), Keshad Johnson (Miami Heat), and Jase Richardson (Orlando Magic).
The 75th NBA All-Star Game will feature a new format this year, a USA vs. World showdown, according to NBA.com. The game will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock on Sunday, February 15th, at 5:00 PM ET.
