NBA and Warner Bros. Discovery Extend Media Partnership for 11 Years

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) have extended their media partnership for 11 years. The agreement aims to enhance NBA content, boost the global presence of TNT Sports, Bleacher Report, and House of Highlights, and solidify WBD’s market position.

Under the agreement, WBD will manage live game broadcasts in various regions, including the Nordics and Latin America, expanding its global sports portfolio. This partnership also resolves any disputes over the NBA’s recent media agreements.

TNT Sports will continue producing the show Inside the NBA, which will air on ESPN and ABC starting in the 2025-26 season. This Emmy Award-winning show will remain a staple of basketball programming. Additionally, TNT Sports will present exclusive college football and basketball games from the Big 12 Conference.

The agreement redefines the NBA’s digital partnership with TNT Sports for the next five seasons. WBD will assist the NBA with production and promotion. This collaboration aims to increase subscriptions to NBA League Pass through effective marketing efforts.

David Zaslav, CEO of WBD, emphasized the value of this partnership, while NBA Commissioner Adam Silver noted its benefits for basketball fans. Since 1984, TNT Sports has been a significant rights holder for the NBA and has achieved numerous Emmy nominations and wins for its coverage.

TNT Sports delivers premium sports content across various platforms, partnering with major sports organizations. It operates platforms like Bleacher Report and House of Highlights and co-manages NBA Digital, which includes NBA TV and NBA.com.
