Cooper Flagg Takes Top role in NBA Draft 2025

Cooper Flagg, a guard/forward from Duke University, was selected first overall in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. Flagg helped Duke reach the NCAA Final Four in the 2024-25 season. As a freshman, he averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. Flagg also won the Wooden Award and was named Atlantic Coast Conference rookie of the Year. He is the second No.1 overall pick in Mavericks history, following Mark Aguirre in 1981. His NBA draft role is highly anticipated.
The San Antonio Spurs selected guard Dylan Harper with the second pick. Harper, 19, is the son of five-time NBA champion Ron Harper. His older brother, Ron Harper Jr., plays for the Detroit Pistons.

VJ Edgecombe, a guard from the Bahamas, was selected third by the Philadelphia 76ers. He earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors after averaging 15 points and 5.6 rebounds per game at Baylor University.The Charlotte Hornets then selected guard Kon Knueppel with the fourth pick, further solidifying the guard role in this year’s draft.
