NBA Star Derrick White Speaks Out: ‘Unfortunate’ Stadium Altercation Leaves a Sour Taste
Derrick White Calls Football Stadium Altercation ‘Unfortunate’
Derrick White, a key player for the Boston Celtics, the reigning NBA champions, recently attended a football game between Colorado State University and his alma mater, the University of Colorado.
During the game, White, who was wearing a University of Colorado cap, got into an argument with a fan. The situation escalated, and he was hit in the head with a back fist.
When asked about the incident during media day on the 24th, White shared his thoughts on the matter.
According to TMZ, White stated:
What happened in Colorado was unfortunate.
I never thought it would be like that.
(The back fist) didn’t actually hit.
It just hit my hat.
But he shouldn’t have been there.
That’s unlucky.
Just move forward.
The situation was eventually contained after police intervention. Fortunately, no arrests were made, and no punishment will be handed down to either party.
