NBCU Google YouTube TV Carriage Deal Agreement
US media giant NBCUniversal (NBCU) has reached a multi-year carriage agreement with Google, specifically for its YouTube video platform and YouTube TV internet television service.
This long-awaited deal ends protracted negotiations and avoids a blackout of NBCU content on YouTube TV. Teh agreement ensures that NBCU’s full range of channels, including sports content, will remain available on YouTube TV. This includes the primary NBC network, Telemundo, and the Golf Channel.
Furthermore, the new NBC Sports Network, set to launch in 2025, will also be included. NBCU’s OTT service, Peacock, will become available on YouTube TV via its Primetime Channels offering in the coming months, while the Peacock app will continue to be accessible on Google mobile platforms.
Both companies expressed satisfaction with the agreement, highlighting its benefit to viewers and the enduring value of NBCU’s content.
