Four Academic Institutions Co-Sponsor Tokyo Conference
The Tokyo conference is co-sponsored by four academic institutions. The participating organizations are the National Bureau of Economic Research, Columbia University’s Center on Japanese Economy and Business, the University of Tokyo’s Center for Advanced Research in Finance, and the Australia-Japan Research Centre at the Australian National University.
On August 5, 2027, right after the main two-day gathering, NBER and the Economic and Social Research Institute of Japan’s Cabinet Office will run an additional conference focused on the Japanese economy. Alan Auerbach and Anil Kashyap are organizing that session on the NBER side. Participants in the main Japan Project Meeting will receive invitations to attend the subsequent Cabinet Office event.
Travel Support and Participant Expenses
To facilitate international attendance, the conference will cover specific travel and accommodation costs for participants. Organizers will pay for business-class airfare for authors traveling from outside Japan. In addition, the conference covers hotel expenses for one author per accepted paper and for each assigned discussant.
