North Carolina A&T State University launched its new live streaming video podcast, The Aggie Effect Live, on Monday, Sept. 21, on YouTube. The production is tied to the All Aggies, All In Capital Campaign and the Aggie Athletic Foundation, bringing prominent alumni, coaches, and sports figures together for a multi-episode run.
Launch Episode and Guest Lineup
Hosts Xavier Burton and Giana Seay led the inaugural broadcast, interviewing former Chicago Bears star Tarik Cohen and Aggies head football coach Shawn Gibbs. The debut episode also featured father-son Aggie football greats Alan and Alston Hooker. Fans who missed the live broadcast can access the full episode on YouTube, where the platform hosts all recordings in perpetuity alongside excerpts, interview segments, and behind-the-scenes footage.
Broadcast Schedule and Campaign Context
Five additional episodes make up the remainder of the podcast’s first season. A new show streams every Monday night at 7 p.m., leading up to North Carolina A&T’s 100th-anniversary homecoming week in late October. The series serves as an outreach arm for the All Aggies, All In capital campaign, which kicked off early last fall and recently concluded its first year. The fundraising effort brought in $3.6 million in cash and pledges during its initial phase. This total includes the largest single gift in A&T Athletics history, contributed by Geoff and Tonya Foster, owners of the Greensboro-based advanced manufacturing firm Core Technology. The campaign also engaged 1,000 new donors to A&T Athletics, with younger contributors making up one-third of that total as part of an initiative to build a lasting culture of philanthropic support.
Funding Student-Athlete Support
All funds raised through the All Aggies, All In campaign go exclusively toward student-athlete scholarships. The revenue growth arrives as Division 1 athletics programs face rising operational expenses, including costs associated with name, image, and likeness opportunities. Supporters can contribute to the ongoing campaign through the university’s online giving portal.
