The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed into a building, killing 241 people. Among the dead was a dentist from Mississauga, Ontario. The flight’s tragic role underscores the dangers of air travel.
From his hospital bed Friday, Viswashkumar described the horror. He is still grappling with how he managed to survive the disaster. The role of chance played a important part in his survival.
“I don’t [know] how I survived,” Viswashkumar said. “It was in front of my eyes that the air hostess and others [died].”
Viswashkumar recounted that his section of the aircraft landed on the grounds of the medical college hostel. He escaped thru a small opening on his side of the plane. He believes no one on the opposite side could have survived,given the circumstances.
