Nemo Arthouse Album Release: Pop & Experimentation
Nemo releases Debut Album “Arthouse” Following Eurovision Win
A year and a half after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, Nemo released their debut album, “Arthouse,” on October 10, 2024. The album is a personal and ambitious project, exploring the boundaries between pop and experimental music.
Following their Eurovision victory with “The Code,” Nemo dedicated time to developing a record that aligned with their artistic vision. While the release of “Arthouse” was delayed due to the extensive promotion surrounding their Eurovision 2024 win, the 26-year-old artist from Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, expressed pride in the final product.
Nemo shared their excitement about finally presenting their work to the public at a show on October 14th, stating, “Its a real pleasure to be able to share it after all this time of creation and production.” The artist explained they intentionally took the time to refine the album, even postponing their tour to alleviate pressure and pursue new creative directions.
A Musical “Arthouse” Between Pop and Experimental
The title “Arthouse,” borrowed from the world of self-reliant cinema, serves as a central concept for Nemo’s musical approach. “I wanted to create a space between the mainstream and the experimental,” they explained. Each track on the album is envisioned as a different room within a house: a ballroom for “casanova,” a club bathroom for “God’s a Raver,” and an attic for “Unexplainable.” This creates an intimate, multifaceted space representing contrasts and personal refuge.
The album deliberately plays with these contrasts, blending diverse sonic elements and lyrical themes. Some songs…
