Nenuphar Restaurant Goes Digital: Philips Tableaux Transforms Guest Communication Sustainably

November 26, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Tech

The Nenuphar restaurant and hotel has replaced paper posters with digital displays from Philips Professional Displays (PPDS). This historic establishment, founded in 1795, chose a modern, sustainable solution for customer communications.

With help from TechWorks, a local AV integration specialist, Nenuphar selected the Philips Tableau Advanced Colour ePaper digital signage series. They installed four 25” portable models in various areas, including the bar, restaurant, event space, and restrooms. These displays can be easily moved as needed.

Kurt Vangerven, Sales Manager Benelux at PPDS, expressed excitement about supporting Nenuphar’s sustainable goals. He stated the company is dedicated to helping customers enhance communications while achieving eco-friendly objectives.

The Philips displays integrate seamlessly into Nenuphar without disturbing the decor and consume minimal power. The Tableaux displays are a technological advancement, with the ability to showcase vibrant images without using electricity for long periods. The range includes 13” and 32” displays that produce high-quality visuals with 60,000 colors.

Q: Can you provide insights on why Nenuphar chose to switch to digital displays,⁣ particularly from PPDS?

Kurt Vangerven: Nenuphar has a rich history, dating back to ‍1795, which makes their decision to embrace modern technology ‍particularly exciting. They wanted a solution that aligns with their sustainability goals ⁣while enhancing customer communications. Our Philips⁤ Tableau Advanced Colour ePaper series was a perfect fit,‍ as⁤ it offers a blend of ⁣high-quality visuals and eco-friendly operation. ⁢We are thrilled that they chose our displays to modernize their guest experience.

Q: What specific features of the Philips Tableau displays appealed to Nenuphar?

Kurt Vangerven: The versatility of the⁢ 25” portable models was a crucial factor. They can⁣ be easily relocated within⁢ the restaurant, bar, event spaces, and even restrooms. These aspects helped them reduce paper waste and associated printing costs significantly.

Q: How does the‌ integration process work with the displays?

Kurt Vangerven: Installation was ⁢exceptionally smooth, thanks to our ‍collaboration with TechWorks, the local AV integration specialist.‌ The lightweight design, at only 3.5 kg, allowed for flexible placement without‍ causing major disruptions to Nenuphar’s operations. Moreover, our displays ⁣feature an Android System on Chip, enabling effortless content management and updates from staff, showcasing everything from menus to real-time information.

Q: What⁤ has been the feedback from Nenuphar about this transformation?

Q: Can you tell us about any recent innovations from PPDS that enhance the digital signage experience?

Kurt Vangerven: Absolutely.
