Kathmandu, Nepal – nepal prime Minister KP Sharma Oli embarked on a crucial five-day official visit to China on Monday, december 2nd. The visit comes as Beijing remains silent on Nepal’s revised proposal for the Belt and road Initiative⁤ (BRI) pact.Leading a delegation⁢ of over 87 members, oli’s visit is being closely watched for potential agreements⁤ to be signed in ‍Beijing. Before departing, Oli, who also chairs the CPN-UML (Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist), held discussions with​ Nepali Congress ‌President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior party‌ officials regarding the new text of ‌the “BRI framework for cooperation.”

This revised proposal, prepared by ⁢a joint taskforce from both parties, renames ⁤the “BRI implementation plan” to ⁤”Framework for cooperation.” After receiving approval from the two senior leaders last week, Nepal’s ‍foreign ministry sent⁢ the text to the Chinese Embassy on Saturday.

Oli’s visit, scheduled from December 2nd ‌to 5th,​ is at the ‍invitation​ of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. During his​ four-day stay,Oli is slated to ⁢meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and ‍hold bilateral talks with Premier Li ⁤Keqiang. He will also engage with senior leaders of the ‌Chinese Communist Party and deliver a keynote address at Peking University.

Confirming the details of ⁣the visit, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson⁢ Mao Ning stated, “Nepal’s Prime‌ Minister Oli will pay an official visit to China from December 2 to 5 at the invitation ‍of Premier Li Keqiang of the state Council.”

The Prime​ Minister’s entourage ⁣includes Foreign‍ Affairs Minister Arzu Rana ​Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and⁢ Development ​Advisor ⁢to the Prime‍ Minister Yuba Raj khatiwada, Members of Parliament, high-ranking‍ government officials, representatives from the private sector, and media personnel.

This marks Oli’s first visit to a foreign nation since assuming power in July.
