Netanyahu’s Ultimatum: Rewards for Hostage Returns Amid Gaza Conflict
Israel‘s Efforts to Recover Hostages in Gaza
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Gaza Strip to address the situation of hostages taken by militants. He emphasized that Israel will hold accountable anyone who harms the hostages. Netanyahu stated, “We will continue to locate our hostages and bring them back, both the living and the deceased.”
Netanyahu issued a warning to those holding the hostages: “Whoever dares to harm our hostages — their blood is on your head. We will pursue you, and we will find you.” He encouraged captors to release the hostages by offering a cash reward.
“To those who want to leave this entanglement, I say: Whoever brings us a hostage will find a safe way out for himself and his family,” Netanyahu announced. He added that Israel will give a reward of $5 million for each hostage returned.
Despite stalled negotiations with Hamas, Israel is exploring individual deals to recover the hostages. Qatar has suspended its mediation efforts, which included Egypt and the United States.
The visit comes as Israel faces pressure to improve humanitarian aid in Gaza and outline a plan for the future after the conflict. Netanyahu affirmed that Israel’s military campaign will persist until Hamas is dismantled.
“Hamas will not rule in Gaza. We are eliminating its military capabilities. We are moving on to its governing abilities, and we are not yet done,” he stated.
Additionally, Minister Katz highlighted the soldiers’ mission to rescue the hostages, ensuring that Hamas does not regain control after the war.
