SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Nevada men’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the 2026 season Friday night, falling 6-1 to Cal Poly.
The Mustangs (3-1) secured the doubles point with narrow victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. At No. 2 doubles, Nevada’s Rayen Hermassi and Axel Huysmans lost a 7-6 (2) tiebreaker to Jack Cross and Sean Kamyshev, giving Cal Poly the initial point.
The singles matches proved challenging for the Wolf Pack (4-1). Aaron Eliscu of Cal Poly extended the Mustangs’ lead to 2-0 with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win over Nicolas Recoura at No. 6 singles. Cal Poly then secured straight-set victories at Nos. 5 and 3, followed by a win at No. 4, clinching the overall match victory.
Nevada’s Rémy Trégourès managed to secure the team’s lone singles win, prevailing in a third-set tiebreaker, 10-8.
Nevada will remain in San Luis Obispo to face LMU in a neutral-court match on Saturday at 2 p.m. .
