Lay’s, Doritos Roll Out New Chip Flavors for Summer

Summer is unofficially chip season, and Lay’s and Doritos are capitalizing wiht new flavors designed to evoke warm-weather nostalgia. Several new chip flavors are hitting store shelves.
Lay’s revived its “Do Us a Flavor” campaign after a seven-year hiatus, inviting fans to submit their own chip creations. The brand received more than 700,000 submissions and narrowed the field to three finalists, now available in stores. The fan-favourite will win $1 million.
Paula from Oklahoma created Lay’s Bacon Grilled Cheese Flavored Potato Chips, inspired by her father’s grilled cheese and bacon recipe. Another finalist, Lay’s Valentina & Lime Flavored Potato Chips, comes from Araceli of California. Her flavor is based on her childhood snack of Lay’s chips with Valentina hot sauce and lime.
Neelia from Virginia rounds out the Lay’s finalists with Lay’s Wavy Korean-Style Fried Chicken Flavored Potato Chips. This “swicy” (sweet and spicy) chip draws inspiration from Korean cuisine.
Doritos is also joining the summer flavor fun with two new additions: Doritos Tangy Ketchup and Doritos Hot Mustard.
