A new development has emerged in the case of the rape of a French lawyer in Casablanca. G. Rahal Essoulami, the granddaughter of the founder of a well-known catering and events group, is now implicated in this case.
According to the magazine Jeune Afrique, the victim, who filed complaints in both Paris and Casablanca, accuses G. Rahal Essoulami of drugging her with GHB. The lawyer reports that the drug could have been hidden in food or drinks. G. Rahal Essoulami denies these allegations.
Jeune Afrique also suggests jealousy may be a motive. G. Rahal Essoulami is the ex-girlfriend of the victim’s fiancĂ©. Reports indicate that the two women had an argument at a party in Casablanca. G. Rahal Essoulami admits she confronted the lawyer about her behavior but denies any further involvement.
Witnesses have confirmed that the two women had a dispute. The lawyer claims she cannot remember anything from that night. The investigation is still ongoing. Three other suspects, Kamil Bennis, Mohamed El Alj, and Saad Slaoui, remain in custody.
