‌Bangkok, Thailand – After decades of debate, a form of diabetes linked to malnutrition has been officially recognized as type 5 diabetes, also known as maturity onset diabetes of teh young (MODY). The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) made the announcement following a vote on April 8 at the world Diabetes Congress in Bangkok.
