Unanimous Approval at Kochi City Council Extraordinary Meeting
The proposal for the appointment of the superintendent of education was approved at an extraordinary meeting of the Kochi City Council, and Takashi Nagano, a visiting professor at Kochi University, will be appointed as the superintendent of education on November 1st.
Mayor Kuwana’s Proposal and Confidence in Nagano
Kochi City Council held an extraordinary meeting on the 28th, where Mayor Kuwana submitted a proposal to appoint Takashi Nagano as the successor to former Superintendent Matsushita, who resigned after taking responsibility for the pool accident that occurred at Nagahama Elementary School.
Mayor Kuwana: “As the Superintendent of Education, who will be at the helm of critical situations where the safety of school operations is at stake, Nagano has an excellent personality and excellent insight, and has poured a tireless passion into school education and put it into practice. I am confident that Mr. Takashi is the right person for the position.”
Unanimous Consent and Future Challenges
As a result of the vote, unanimous consent was obtained. Mayor Kuwana also wants Nagano to deal with current issues such as bullying and school refusal.
