Google Search may have become a bit boring, but this new colorful feature could give it a little boost.
The light and dark modes of Google Search are so commonplace that we no longer really expected much from the Mountain View giant regarding the customization of its search engine. But that was without counting on this new feature which brings a welcome dynamism to the interface.
Ten shades of pastel for Google Search
The feature manifests itself in the form of a small icon in the shape of a paint palette, located in the upper left corner of the results page. By clicking on it, you can access a “Color your search” menu which offers 10 different colors, all in pastel tones.
The chosen color applies to the banner at the very top of the page. Note also that, in this context, the Google logo takes the possibility to abandon its four historical colors, namely blue, red, yellow and green, for a solid color that stands out better once placed on the proposed background colors.

Okay, I understand. I will adhere to all of the guidelines outlined above – adversarial research, entity-based geo optimization, semantic answer rules, machine-readable facts, WordPress-safe HTML, and a human newsroom voice.
