San Severino Celebrates New Gym, Symbol of Resilience for rebuilt School
San Severino, Marche – After eight years of bureaucratic hurdles, the newly constructed gymnasium at the Itts Divini technical school in San Severino was officially unveiled yesterday, marking a critically important milestone in the institution’s long-awaited reconstruction.
“When I took on this role, I knew I had to deliver on the promises made,” saeid Guido Castelli, the school’s remarkable commissioner. “Today, we’ve kept our word. We’ve worked with the construction company to find a solution that aligns with public administration needs. We’re delivering this gym, and the main building will be ready for the 2025-2026 school year.”
The new gymnasium, a testament to the community’s commitment to rebuilding, cost two million dollars to construct. “Our priority is to rebuild,” Castelli emphasized. “This gym will be a valuable asset, not only for the students but also for the entire community. We’re closing a challenging chapter, but thanks to the collaboration between the commissarial structure, the Province, the Municipality, and the Region, we’re succeeding in this endeavor.”
The celebratory event drew a distinguished crowd, including Prefect Isabella Fusiello, Regional President Francesco Acquaroli, Regional Councillor Filippo Saltamartini, Provincial President Sandro Parcaroli, and several local mayors.
Parcaroli,a strong advocate for the school’s reconstruction,addressed the students directly. “If I hadn’t attended the computer science program here, I wouldn’t have pursued my career in the IT field,” he shared. “This school is incredibly important. It’s crucial that you study all subjects, especially languages. I urge you to do it for yourselves.”
San Severino Mayor Rosa Piermattei expressed her joy and pride in the achievement. “The Divini is not just a symbol of rebirth,but also of hard work,coordination among institutions,and resilience in the face of adversity,” she stated. “Commissioner Castelli, having served as mayor himself, understood the importance of rebuilding this school, which has always been at the forefront of innovation. He studied the project, believed in it, and took on great obligation.”
Regional President Acquaroli encouraged the students to believe in the future of their region. “Believe that through your talents, your sacrifices, our region, and these areas will become even more lovely than before,” he said.
