New Jeans’ Fate Hangs in the Balance: Will Min Hee-jin Make a Comeback on the Group’s ‘Day of Destiny
New Jeans Urges Adore and Hive to Reinstate Former CEO Min Hee-jin
New Jeans, a popular K-pop group, has made a public demand to their agency Adore and parent company Hive, calling for the reinstatement of former Adore CEO Min Hee-jin by the 25th.
The group’s members, Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein, held an emergency live broadcast on YouTube on the 11th, where they expressed their desire to see the original Adore management structure reinstated. They emphasized that they want a management system where production and management are integrated, and urged Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and HYBE to make a wise decision to normalize Adore by the 25th.
New Jeans also claimed that Hive has ignored their requests for protection and that they have been ostracized within the company. In response, Lee Jae-sang, the new CEO of Hive, stated that the company is responding calmly and according to its principles, and that there is no change in its tone.
Although no additional statement was made, it was reported that New Jeans met with Kim Joo-young, CEO of Adore, on the 23rd. The specific details of the negotiations were not disclosed, but it is presumed that the group maintained their existing position of asking for former CEO Min’s reinstatement.
Former CEO Min was dismissed by Adore’s board of directors on the 27th of last month, and Kim Joo-young, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Hive, was appointed as the new CEO. Former CEO Min has objected to the contract for delegation of work related to production work proposed by the current Adore, citing unfairness. Under the current Adore system, it is virtually impossible for former CEO Min to properly produce.
As the deadline for New Jeans’ request approaches, attention is focused on what stance both sides will take. The group’s strong demand for former CEO Min’s return has sparked interest in the K-pop industry, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how the situation will unfold.
