The iconic Flodder family is returning to screens in a new spin-off series titled Kees Flodder
, scheduled to premiere on Videoland on May 18, 2026. The series will be released daily starting from that date.
This new iteration of the franchise centers on a new generation of Flodders, focusing on the character of Kees, who is now a grown woman. The plot begins when Kees unexpectedly arrives at the doorstep of her own daughter, also named Kees (Kees junior), introducing viewers to the latest members of the notorious family.
Cast and Character Returns
Tatjana Šimić reprises her role as Kees Flodder. The actress, now 61, previously expressed hesitation regarding her return, mentioning in an interview with Radio 538 that she questioned whether she should return to the role or instead play Ma Flodder given her age.

Šimić eventually agreed to the project, citing the quality of the scripts, the fan response, and the decision to film in the original locations. The production is utilizing the original neighborhood in Sittard-Geleen, which served as the fictional villawijk Zonnedael in the original films and series.
The new household consists of several new cast members:
- Ghislaine van IJperen as Kees junior, the daughter of Kees Flodder
- Tibor Lukács as Donnie
- Dylan Jongejans as Pris
- Jack Koren as Paultje
- Saskia van Iterson as Oma
- Thilou Ros as Baby
The series also features the return of Horace Cohen, who is returning to the franchise as Oom Henkie. Cohen previously appeared as a young member of the family in the first Flodder film in 1986.
Additional cast members listed for the production include Katja Schuurman, Isa Hoes, Robbert Bleij, André Dongelmans, Laura Bakker, Sidar Toksöz, Ferdi Stofmeel, Serge-Henri Valcke, Vincent Croiset, Wesley van Klink, and Oscar Aerts.
Production Details
The spin-off is produced by the Amsterdam-based production house NewBe. While the series is a continuation of the world established in the 1980s and 90s, Dick Maas, the director of the original films and series, is not involved in this project.
Maas stated that when he was approached about the spin-off, he immediately indicated that such a project was not for him.
Filming for the series has already been completed. The production specifically chose to return to the original filming locations in Sittard-Geleen to maintain the visual identity of Zonnedael.
The series is categorized as a comedy and will be available exclusively via the Videoland streaming platform.
