New Leadership on the Horizon: Park Sang-won Takes the Helm as LOKA-USA’s Next President
Korean American Citizens Association Approves Sangwon Park as 24th National President
The Korean American Citizens Association (Chairman Youngran Chang) held a board meeting via Zoom at 8:00 PM on the 6th and unanimously approved the sole candidate for the 24th National President, Sangwon Park. Accordingly, Chairman-elect Sangwon Park will serve as the National President of LOKA-USA for two years starting January 1, 2025, succeeding Chairman Youngran Chang, who served as the 22nd and 23rd President.
The next chairman, Park Sang-won, was elected as the sole candidate in the 24th chairman election on August 25th and received final approval at this national board meeting. In addition, the next national chairman and national co-chairman will be elected during the term of Chairman Jang Young-ran.
At this board meeting, the agenda for enacting the Maryland Korean American Day Act and promoting a senior Korean delegation to Korea for World Korean Day was discussed. Currently, Chairman Park is serving as the president of St. Mission University in the United States and the standing representative of the World Korean Foundation.
