Similar to the tablets,the new laptops aren’t groundbreaking sensations. Besides introducing a new sky blue color, their biggest upgrade is the use of the Apple M4 system-on-a-chip. Thanks to this chip,their processor and video controller are more powerful,and they perform better when running local generative AI tasks.
Despite all these enhancements, the new MacBook Air M4 continues to provide a legendary 18 hours of battery life under normal usage conditions.
Surprising Price and Availability
The pricing caused the biggest surprise by far. Despite the more powerful chip and the doubled minimum memory of 16 GB, Apple has cut $100 from the base model with the 13-inch display.
