The newly appointed members are literary therapist and communications specialist Ott Anna, art historian and museologist Sasvári Edit, and actor, director, and Örkény István Theater founder Mácsai Pál.

Tarr Zoltán emphasized that the leadership felt an urgent need to convene the board promptly, criticizing the previous administration’s approach to the arts. According to the minister, the prior NKA leadership exhausted 95 percent of its annual budget during the three months leading up to the elections.
Overhauling Ministerial Discretionary Budgets
A primary objective for the newly seated committee is restoring the traditional decision-making role of permanent professional colleges within the fund. Furthermore, the administration plans to target a controversial financial mechanism established under former cultural minister Hankó Balázs.
The ministerial discretionary budget, which previously stood at 25 percent of the fund, will be significantly cut down to 5 percent. This reduced allocation will officially take effect next year and is intended exclusively to serve as an emergency fund for cultural figures and institutions facing sudden crises.
Allocating Joint-Management Revenues
Despite the depleted budget left behind by the prior administration, the committee secured an immediate funding stream during its inaugural meeting. Revenue totaling more than four billion forints arrived from collective management organizations, giving the board immediate capital to distribute.
According to Tarr Zoltán’s statements covered by Origo.hu, these incoming funds will allow the committee to issue support grants before the end of the year. The minister highlighted this revenue source as a vital mechanism for preserving the financial independence of the NKA and working artists.
