New athens Clinic Offers Hope for Children’s Mental Health
ATHENS, Ala. – A ribbon was cut Wednesday, marking the grand opening of a new mental health clinic dedicated solely to serving children in the Athens area. The Mental Health Center of North central Alabama‘s new facility on East elm Street aims to provide crucial resources and support for a growing number of young patients struggling with mental health challenges.
“This building gives us an opportunity to expand our services,” said Lisa Coleman with the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama. “We have always served adults and children out of the same building, so having this new building to only serve the youth is a big deal for north Alabama and our area.”
The $1.2 million facility represents a notable investment in the well-being of Athens’ children.By offering specialized care in a dedicated space, the center hopes to create a more welcoming and supportive habitat for young patients seeking help.
