New Season of ‘Frühling’ with Simone Thomalla Delayed
Turbulent Times Lie Ahead: "Frühling" Fans Brace for Change
As the final episode of the latest season of "Frühling" came to a close, the cryptic words of a fortune teller echoed through the small village: "Holla, die Waldfee," she said, "Dereally turbulente Zeiten” (really tumultuous times) lie ahead. And in the depths of her crystal ball, a glimpse of a new man seemed to appear. Despite his heart-wrenching breakup with Katja, Tom actor Jan Sosniok’s departure from the series is not a definitive one. Insiders indicate that Sosniok will be absent from the first new episodes, but his return remains a possibility.
Exciting New Additions
The addition of new faces should bring joy to fans of "Frühling." Ines Lutz, a former star of "Bergdoktor," joins the cast in a significant role, set to appear in two episodes. Irene Rachel, portrayed by Monika Manz, will also make her debut, delighting fans of Heidrun, who friends Lissy with affection. "She cannot stay without a dog and a friend," Heidrun actor Catalina Navarro Kirner shares, "It’s just not possible."
The decision behind these new additions comes from a place of deep connection and respect. Kirner, who played Heidrun, had a close bond with departing character Ruth Wohlschlegel. After Ruth’s passing, Kirner admitted it would have been “unheimlich schwergefallen” to replace her with an outsider, but felt a profound tie to Monika. "We’ve worked together countless times and I’m also her fan,” Kirner explains. “I believe Ruth would have been in agreement.”
A New Chapter for Lily
Starting from episode 55, viewers will see Lily Lück, daughter of comedian Ingolf Lück, who recently appeared in "Sturm der Liebe." This fresh wave of talent promises to bring a revitalizing energy to the beloved series.
“Frühling” is currently available to stream on the ZDF Mediathek.
