ROUBAIX, FRANCE — A new health center focusing on sexual health and infectious diseases has opened its doors in Roubaix. The Center Gratuit d’Information, de Dépistage et de Diagnostic (CeGIDD) launched on January 13, 2025, offering a range of services to the community.
Open three days a week, with both appointment and walk-in options, the new center is conveniently located at 16 boulevard du Général de Gaulle, near the city center and accessible via public transportation. Coordinate by the Tourcoing Hospital Center, it joins two other CeGIDD locations in the Lille metropolitan area.
The organization allows the Roubaix CeGIDD to tap into the SUMIV (Service Universitaire des Maladies Infectieuses et du Voyageur) expertise at Tourcoing, ensuring high-quality care throughout the region.
A Comprehensive Approach to Sexual Health
The CeGIDD Roubaix provides a wide array of services, including:
- Free and confidential testing and diagnosis for HIV, viral hepatitis, and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Vaccinations against viral hepatitis, human papillomavirus (HPV), and mpox
- Rapid response to Exposure to Viruses (ETV) incidents, including post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medication
- Contraception and emergency contraception, as well as initial consultation for abortion services
- Support and referrals for victims of sexual and gender-based violence
